Senior Technical Writer TS/SCI
Location: Gaithersburg, MD (Hybrid; candidates must live within 25 miles)
Salary Range: $82,550 $149,225
Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI required
Leidos is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Writer to develop and maintain technical documentation for complex GEOINT systems, software, and mission capabilities. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineers, developers, architects, analysts, and subject-matter experts to turn complex technical information into clear, accurate, and easy-to-understand documentation.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain technical manuals, user guides, SOPs, system documentation, and release documentation.
Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise written content.
Collaborate with technical teams and subject-matter experts to gather and verify information.
Review and edit documentation for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
Maintain documentation standards, templates, and style guides.
Manage multiple documentation projects and meet deadlines.
Follow security requirements when working with classified information.
U.S. citizenship.
Active TS/SCI security clearance.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
7+ years of technical writing experience, preferably supporting software, systems engineering, defense, or intelligence programs.
Experience documenting complex technical systems, software, cloud, or DevSecOps environments.
Experience with technical manuals, architecture documents, SOPs, and user guides.
Hands-on experience with Confluence and Jira or similar tools.
Excellent writing, editing, research, communication, and organizational skills.
