Job Description

Digital Graphic Designer

This is a Hawai‘i-based position. Applicants must currently reside in the State of Hawai‘i. Our work is rooted in Hawai‘i, and we value the cultural understanding, local relationships, and collaboration that come from being part of this community.

At Olomana Loomis ISC, we believe this is one of the most exciting times in history to be a creative professional. Artificial intelligence is transforming how ideas are imagined, developed, and produced. Creative collaboration is no longer limited by geography. And the opportunities for talented designers to make a meaningful impact have never been greater. We're looking for an ambitious Graphic Designer who wants to be part of that future, not simply watch it unfold.

For nearly 30 years, Olomana Loomis ISC has helped organizations across Hawai‘i and beyond solve business, brand, marketing, and communications challenges. Our clients include schools, nonprofits, healthcare organizations, government agencies, and businesses that are shaping our communities. Through our membership in ICOM, a global network of independent marketing and communications agencies, we connect Hawai‘i with creative talent, fresh perspectives, and emerging ideas from around the world.

This is an opportunity to build your career in Hawai‘i while expanding your creative horizons globally.

The Role

As a member of Alchemyst Studios, our in-house creative team, you'll work on a diverse range of projects, from brand identity and integrated campaigns to digital experiences, social content, video, motion graphics, and emerging media. But we're looking for more than someone who can execute design assignments.

We want someone who is eager to stretch creatively, explore new technologies, solve problems, and contribute ideas that elevate the work. You'll collaborate with strategists, writers, communicators, and other creative professionals in Hawai‘i. You'll also have opportunities to connect, exchange ideas, and collaborate with talented designers and creative teams across our international ICOM network.

Imagine learning from creative professionals in Tokyo, Singapore, London, Paris, or New York while developing work that makes a difference here at home. We also want you to help us rethink how creative work gets done. We see AI as a powerful tool for expanding creative possibilities and improving workflow efficiency. We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic about experimenting with AI-assisted design, automation, and production tools to spend less time on repetitive tasks and more time on creative thinking, problem-solving, and exceptional execution.

What You’ll Do

• Create meaningful work. Develop compelling designs across brand identity, print, digital, social media, presentations, video, and environmental applications.
• Think beyond the assignment. Bring fresh ideas, creative judgment, and problem-solving skills to every project, from initial concept through final execution.
• Embrace AI and emerging technologies. Explore and apply AI-powered tools to accelerate ideation, streamline production, automate repetitive tasks, and improve creative workflows without compromising quality.
• Collaborate across borders. Work with our local team and engage with designers, creative specialists, and agencies throughout our global network.
• Turn strategy into creativity. Work alongside strategists, writers, and account teams to translate business and communications objectives into compelling visual experiences.
• Own your craft. Maintain high standards for design quality, consistency, accuracy, and production readiness.
• Keep growing. Bring curiosity, share what you learn, experiment with new approaches, and contribute to the evolution of our creative capabilities.

What We’re Looking For

First and foremost, we're looking for someone with creative ambition, sound judgment, and the drive to keep getting better. You should bring:

• A strong portfolio demonstrating creative thinking, versatility, and excellent design fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• Experience with, or a demonstrated commitment to mastering, AI-assisted creative tools and more efficient production workflows.
• The ability to take projects from concept to finished deliverables with attention to detail.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and time-management skills.
• Confidence to contribute ideas, openness to feedback, and the maturity to work effectively with others.
• Curiosity about design trends, emerging technologies, and creative practices around the world.
• A willingness to take initiative, accept responsibility, and grow professionally.

Additional capabilities in motion graphics, video editing, photography, illustration, web design, or creative automation are welcome. We're particularly interested in candidates who see technology as an opportunity to become more capable and valuable creative professionals.

Qualifications

• Minimum, a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Media Arts, or related field preferred
• Professional experience in design, agency, in-house, freelance, or equivalent creative work
• Strong portfolio demonstrating versatility across mediums

Perks & Benefits

• Employer-paid health insurance (includes acupuncture + massage).
• 401(k) with company match.
• Generous PTO, sick leave, and paid holidays.
• Parking subsidy or monthly bus pass.
• Year-end performance bonus.
• Group term life + optional supplemental insurance.
• Flex spending accounts (medical and dependent care).
• Ongoing professional development.
